VisionAIR Objectives

The major objectives of the project are:

• To set-up a next generation IP/OSGi based Full Service infrastructure in four municipalities across different countries of Europe and experiment with convergent, IP based voice, data and video networks & services
• To deploy service delivery platforms based on existing, owned or leased, Fiber and DSL access infrastructure
• To perform 1.5 years of extensive user trials in 4 locations with broadband services and experiment with service bundles deployment based on the OSGi framework
• To validate equipment interoperability and service interworking as well as to offer end-user privacy, data security, and quality of service in general.
• To develop and validate the usage scenarios, carry out extensive human-centric studies of the impact of the technology with the help of independent human-aspect analysis consultants
• To develop & validate business models to be used as a paradigm for real service deployment and operations
• To contribute to relevant standard bodies regarding service bundle deployment over convergent access network architectures
