Workshop Concept

The workshop is devoted to the topic of municipal involvement in the field of broadband networks as means for interaction and collaboration among citizens, content providers, operators and other roles. Within the scope are all of the main constitutive elements of Concurrent Enterprising / Collaboration, including Human aspects, Business Models, Product/Service development, ICT infrastructure and Policy/Regulations.

Target group for this workshop are all kind of actors from municipalities, service providers, content providers and industry/manufacturers, who are willing to share their experiences in enabling and supporting technology and services in this field. The exchange of points of view are thought to enable a common understanding among the different perspectives into the whole topical area.

The workshop will feature presentations by players from all of the mentioned areas, among them municipalities of different sizes and from different European regions, telecommunication manufacturers, and network providers/operators who will give attention to individually chosen subsets of the main CE constitutive elements from their particular perspective. The workshop will comprise the following topics:

  • Business Models for municipal broadband services
  • Location based services for citizens
  • Report about the view from different cities, namely Bari, Bremen and Maroussi
In addition, there will be room for open discussion and concerted brainstorming, moderated by the CE Consulting workshop chairman.
